Ponies of 200 - 400 kg = 1 - 2 kg per day*

Horses of 400 - 600 kg = 2 - 3.5 kg per day*

Larger horses of more than 600 kg = 3.5 - 5.0 kg per day*

*When giving this feeding guideline, it is assumed that the horse gets at least 1.5% of its body weight in roughage per day. E.g. a horse weighing 500 kg will eat at least 7.5 kg of roughage per day. These guidelines indicate the minimum and maximum weight of pellet that can be given. This means that e.g. a pony weighing between 200 and 400 kg can be fed an amount between 1 - 2 kg per day, depending on his/her needs.
